EMPOWERING STUDENTS WITH ADHD

mission

mission

Our mission:

To create a better collegiate experience for students with ADHD.

We want to create a system that helps connect students to resources as well as people so that they feel listened to and supported.

The goal of our research was to better understand how students with ADHD navigate the UIUC campus. We read articles about students in college with ADHD and how they adjusted to independent life on a college campus. We conducted an interview with an Access Specialist at DRES, Brian Siemann, to learn about what resources they have available to them. We also conducted a survey to gain feedback from students with ADHD about their opinion of these resources and how they feel about disclosing their disability.

Our group values:

1. Represent our audience accurately

2. Present issues honestly

3. Cater to all needs of audience

4. Present beneficial resources

5. Contribute to the academic success of the target audience

6. Build confidence in our target audience

7. Make target audience feel like they are supported

8. Decrease stress of target audience

9. Create conversation in an attempt to address stigma
